same indifference

today’s napowrimo #14 challenge is to write a cleave poem. i am not enthused but i will try it.

i skipped yesterday because i am having really bad allergy congestion, headaches, coughing, sneezing, itchy throat, and all-around suckitude.

it will rise and come again he will leave and never stay
it is written in the books he does not care for scribbles
it is prophesied by oracles he thinks only love’s a miracle
it will save us all from sin he will shield you from yourself
it will treasure your heart he will make no empty promises
it asks you only to believe he asks you to act on faith
it tells you to endure he tells you to forgive
it dwells among enemies he dusts his feet and curses
it dwells among hope he carries hope in him as a beacon
it is a liar and a thief he is a liar and a thief
but sometimes that’s good but sometimes that’s good

  1. Wise Math says:

I’m doing NaPoWriMo too and I’m so clueless as to “styles” of poems. In fact, when I read great work like yours I feel like such the newbie lol.

    This is really good.

  2. What was your writing process with your poem? Did you write the poem on the left first? And then do the right? Vice versa? Something else?

I liked the repetition you used.
